I searched and searched for the perfect decor. I knew in my mind what I wanted, but I'm not always the greatest at putting that into words so others can know what my vision is, and I'm certainly no artist, so I couldn't draw it for them either.
I really loved the idea of having a dark and romantic reception, and I LOVE all things baroque style. We went with dark purple, black and grey/silver as our colors... all of these elements combined created my vision and with the help of the wonderful ladies at Events by I.candy and Molly from Maxe Designs my vision came to life.
Our reception venue provided standard white table linens with black or white napkins. To save money I went with them, and added a little spice to our table by using a table runner, chair covers and a sash from Sitting Pretty. I chose a black table runner, with black spandex chair covers and a dark purple sash. I think it really pulled everything together and I love the way it turned out.
I purchased black and silver charger plates from Hobby Lobby for 50% off to add a bit more class and had our wedding mad libs placed in the napkin folded "menu style" placed on top of the charger plate.
We had two different center pieces, one was a black candelabra with beautiful crystals hanging down, they other was a beautiful black cut out vases, one with magnolias and the other with a LED candle inside. They were placed on a mosaic mirror charger plate, and then we placed three black sequenced votive candles around them. We also had our table numbers placed in a small black baroque style frame. I also had our ispy game displayed on a stand in the center of the table.
We had a table at the entry into our reception that held a welcome sign and all of our table assignments (escort cards).
Here is a shot of our place cards - We had the guests name on one side, and their meal selection on the other to help the servers keep everyones meals in order and to make it all go smoothly.
That sums up all of our reception decor.
